These Terms govern your use of Argus (the app). By using Argus you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

The service

Argus is an AI companion that uses your device's camera and microphone, together with Google's Gemini Live API, to see, hear, and respond to you in real time — for things like cooking help, shopping assistance, and everyday troubleshooting. See our Privacy Policy for what data this involves.

Who can use Argus

Argus is not directed at children under 13, and it should not be used by anyone under 13.

Acceptable use

• Don't point Argus's camera or microphone at other people without their knowledge and consent — you're responsible for respecting the privacy of anyone around you while using the app.
• Don't use Argus for anything illegal, or in a way that could harm, harass, or endanger yourself or others.
• Don't attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or abuse the service (including its backend or rate limits) beyond normal personal use.

No professional advice

Argus's suggestions — including cooking, repair/troubleshooting, product comparisons, and similar guidance — are generated by an AI model and provided for informational purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional, medical, safety, or expert advice. Use your own judgment, especially around anything involving heat, sharp tools, electrical repairs, food safety, or allergies. You are responsible for your own safety and decisions when using the app.

Third-party services

Argus relies on Google's Gemini Live API, Google Cloud Firestore, Open-Meteo, and DuckDuckGo's Instant Answer API (used for web search and restaurant lookups, which sends the relevant query text to DuckDuckGo) to function. We don't control these services and aren't responsible for their outages, errors, or changes. Your use of Argus is also subject to Google's Gemini API terms.

No warranty

Argus is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Argus — including damages resulting from advice or suggestions the app provides.

Your data

You can delete all data associated with your device identifier at any time from within the app via Delete my data, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Termination

You may stop using Argus at any time. We may suspend or discontinue the service, in whole or in part, at any time.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Argus after a change means you accept the updated Terms. The "last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision.
